Separating transformers

Function
Separating transformers are classic transformers in which the primary and secondary windings are separated by basic insulation. Unlike isolation transformers, they do not feature a split bobbin or a screen between the windings, while still maintaining galvanic separation of circuits. They are intended for supplying lighting circuits, control circuits and other systems requiring an additional level of protection against disturbances and overvoltages.
As standard, transformers are designed for mounting on a welded base or by means of bolted mounting brackets. The number of taps on both the primary and secondary sides is selected individually according to customer requirements, allowing flexible adaptation of the unit to a specific application.

Benefits
  • Increased installation safety through galvanic separation of circuits
  • Suppression of electromagnetic disturbances
  • Protection against overvoltages and harmful impulses
  • Stable operation of low-voltage loads
  • Configuration flexibility thanks to selectable taps and mounting options
Applications
  • Railway industry
  • Marine industry
  • Power quality systems
  • Oil & gas industry
  • Heavy and mining industry
  • Renewable energy sources
  • Power electronics and drive systems
