Transformers supplied from thyristor controllers
Function
Low-voltage transformers supplied from thyristor regulators are designed to operate under conditions of highly distorted voltages and currents, typical for phase-angle control systems. Thyristor regulators generate steep current rise rates, a high level of higher-order harmonics and variable, often impulsive loads. For this reason, these transformers feature specially designed windings, increased thermal strength and an appropriately selected magnetic structure that minimizes heating and losses caused by distorted operating conditions.

They are used in power control systems, induction heating, drive systems, technological processes and wherever voltage is smoothly controlled by changing the firing angle of thyristors.
