Transformers with Scott - connection

Function
The Scott transformer configuration enables conversion from a three-phase supply to a two-phase system, allowing two-phase loads or groups of single-phase loads to be supplied from a standard three-phase network. The system consists of two transformers – a main transformer and a teaser transformer – connected in such a way as to obtain two phases shifted by 90° relative to each other. A key advantage of the Scott configuration is that with a symmetrical two-phase load, the three-phase supply network also remains symmetrically loaded. As a result, the system is stable, energy-efficient and beneficial for both power sources and connected loads.
